Overview

Trip Introduction:
Kathmandu World Heritage Site Visit is a great opportunity to explore the heritage sites inside the Kathmandu Valley. The valley is home to one of Asia’s most ancient civilizations. Kathmandu has hundreds of monuments and pilgrimage sites for Hindus and Buddhists. There are seven UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu and hundreds of other historical monuments. Our one-day’s Kathmandu World Heritage Site Tour allows you the cultural and architectural marvels of Kathmandu.  Kathmandu is often known as the open museum of medieval art and architecture.

We will start the day early after breakfast. Our experienced guide will take us to visit the world heritage, and explore the wonders of sights and sounds of the city. We will tour the following places:

Kathmandu Durbar Square: We tour the Kathmandu Durbar Square, the historic site that was home to the royals earlier. We roam around to explore the historical significance of the place. The major highlights of the square are the living goddess: Kumari, a girl who has undergone the most rigorous selection tests. Here in this palace, you can see the temple called Kasthamandap. The name of Kathmandu has been embarked on with the help of that temple. Some of the prominent temples and deities here include the Taleju Mandir, Bhairav, Hanuman, and Kumari Ghar.

Swayambhunath Stupa: We tour the Swayambhunath stupa,  the temple of its own existence, which is also recognized as the “monkeys' temple”. The panoramic view seen from this place to the Kathmandu valley is simply stunning. The monkeys around the stupas make the place lively. Swayambhunath is truly worthy of being included in the World Heritage list and is an ideal place for a day trip to Kathmandu.

Pashupatinath Temple:
We tour the Pashupatinath temple, the biggest pilgrimage of the Hindu people. Pashupatinath, listed as a World Heritage Site, located on the banks of the Bagmati River in Eastern Kathmandu, is one of the most popular and important Shiva temples, and all Hindu followers must visit the temple at least once in their life.

Boudhanath Stupa:
We tour around the Boudhanath, the Lord of Wisdom, which is assumed as the biggest Stupa in the Asian subcontinent. It is believed all followers of Buddhism must visit it once in their lifetime as they can advocate peace and prosperity. There are lots of monasteries around Bouddhanath which is also known as the center for learning and practicing Buddhism and visitors should go around the Stupa in a clockwise direction spinning the prayer wheels as it brings more happiness, infinite merits, and good luck.

After enjoying some quality time at these sites, we will transfer you to your hotel as the Kathmandu World Heritage Site Tour concludes.
