Kenya rewards those who see it in full. Not just the wide grasslands where lions move through golden light, but the mountain that gave the country its name, rising cold and sharp above it all.
This expedition takes you through both. You'll trek Mount Kenya, Africa's second-highest peak, then descend into the Maasai Mara for a safari shaped in direct partnership with the Maasai community, whose knowledge of this land runs deeper than any guidebook.
The journey:
Mount Kenya: A multi-day trek through five distinct ecological zones, from forest to alpine moorland to the glaciated peaks themselves. Fewer crowds than Kilimanjaro, equally dramatic terrain, and acclimatisation built into the route for those pairing it with the safari to follow.
Maasai Mara Safari: Game drives led by Maasai trackers who read the land the way others read a map. Private access to community conservancies rarely open to standard tour groups. Evenings in Maasai villages as guests, not spectators, with proceeds from this partnership supporting conservation and local livelihoods directly.
What makes this different:
Most Kenya itineraries offer one or the other. Ours gives you the altitude and the acacia plains in a single, connected journey, mountain first, then the wide horizon of the Mara. Luxury tented camps, private vehicles, small group sizes throughout.
