The Kathmandu Chisapani Nagarkot trek is one of the short and sweet trips to trek around the Kathmandu Valley. The tour is planned and designed, especially for those travelers seeking to trek around the terrains of Nepal and enjoy the beauty of nature within a very short time. The trek starts from the beautiful and evergreen place in the valley, Sundarijal which is just a few minutes drive from the capital city, Kathmandu. 

Kathmandu Chisapani Nagarkot Trek Trip Introduction:

The trail pierces through Shivapuri National Park taking you through the big watersheds, rivers, and chirping sounds of beautiful birds. The trek offers you a very beautiful nature and village walk experience, a natural environment, and a stunning panoramic view of multiple mountains including, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Gaurishankhar Himal, and Mt. Everest too sometimes.

The weather around these places is mostly cool and windy. You get to enjoy the real boon of nature away from the hustle and bustle of the Kathmandu valley. Being away from the crowded valley, and hiking up to the top, you can experience a short adventurous trip through the trek. The animals and birds whispering around the places with the view of the whole valley from the top is a very rare experience.

2nd Day: Trek from Chisapani to Nagarkot

Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal(1 hour) and Trek to Chisapani(6-7 hours)

You will take an early morning drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, which will take just about 1 hour. We will then start our trek from Sundarijal taking the route via Mulkharkha to reach Chisapani. The trek might take about 6 hours, traveling through the beautiful green forests. After arriving at Chisapani, we will check in at our guest house. We take some rest and enjoy the well-deserved meal of the day. Chisapani is a beautiful destination to enjoy the local dishes and authentic foods. Overnight at Chisapani.

Trek from Chisapani to Nagarkot

7-8 Hrs Tea House Nagarkot 3 Meals
After a night at Chisapani, we will start the trip to Nagarkot. The trek to Nagarkot takes about 6 hours long. The trek trails will take you through scenic forests, local villages, and terraced farmlands. You’ll get the view of stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas, including the Langtang Region. We might even witness some animals like deer or species of birds on the way to Nagarkot. You’ll check into the guesthouse after reaching Nagarkot. You have an evening to stroll around the places.

Hike from Nagarkot to Changunarayan(2-3 hours) and drive back to Kathmandu(1.5 hours)

Nagarkot is a very beautiful place to enjoy the view of the whole Kathmandu valley with the beautiful mountains surrounding it all around. We can also see the early morning sunrise view from the tower. We will hike down from Nagarkot to Changunarayan. The hike will take us about 2-3 hours depending upon the speed and the conditions. The hike offers stunning and breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest. We will explore the cultural and historical monuments built hundreds of years ago in the Changunarayan. You will be then picked up in a vehicle from Changunarayan and driven back to Kathmandu. After the 1.5 hours ride, we will reach Kathmandu. You can also go further sightseeing around the World Heritage Sites of Bhaktapur during the return trip.
