Nepal is home to eight of the 14 highest mountains in the world. With Mount Everest 8,848 m (29,029 ft) standing tall in Nepal, mountaineering enthusiasts are keen to explore this region at least once in their lifetime. By the end of 2010, there had been 5,104 ascents to the Everest summit by about 3,142 individuals, with 77% of these ascents being accomplished since 2,000.

After Nepal Mountaineering Association opened access to various small peaks for climbing, mountaineering enthusiasts, amateur and experienced alike, are attracted by Nepal's beautifully challenging climbing peaks. Peak climbing in Nepal gives you the experience of both trekking and mountaineering. The trekking peaks or climbing peaks, whatever you please call them, offer mountaineering challenges of varying degrees.

The increasing popularity of the trekking peaks in Nepal is down to the fact that visitors not only get to trek some of the world's popular trails but also experience the thrills of mountaineering. Nepal opened its peaks for mountaineers worldwide in 1949. Ever since it continues to ignite the imagination of mountaineering and climbing enthusiasts worldwide.

Although there are many climbing peaks in Nepal, some are evidently more popular than others. Some of the most popular trekking peaks are Island Peak, Mera Peak, Lobuche, Kyajo Ri, Nayakanga, Pisang Peak, Singuchuli Peak, and Tharpu Chuli. Depending upon the amount of time and climbing experience you have, you can choose a peak that best suits you.

  • This trip was an absolute dream. Every day brought a new thrill, from the heart-pounding rush of rafting on the Trishuli River to the breathtaking sunrise at Sarangkot. The bungee jump in Kushma was pure adrenaline—I’ll never forget that feeling. Nepal’s landscapes, combined with the nonstop adventure, make this a must-do. Thank you Nepal Vision Team for this trip.
