The aim of responsible tourism is to "create better places for people to live in, and better places to visit". Ever since the 2002 Cape Town Declaration on Responsible Tourism identified its essence, the concept of responsible tourism continues to flourish worldwide. The declaration defines responsible tourism as an approach to tourism that:

• minimizes negative economic, environmental and social impacts.
• generates greater economic benefits for local people and enhances the wellbeing of host communities.
• improves the working conditions and access to the industry.
• involves local people in decisions that affect the lives and life chances.
• makes positive contributions to the conservation of natural and cultural heritage embracing diversity.
• provides more enjoyable experiences for tourists through more meaningful connections with local people, and a greater understanding of local cultural, social and environmental issues
• provides access for physically challenged people.
• is culturally sensitive, encourages respect between tourists and hosts, and builds local pride and confidence.

Nepal Vision Treks and Expedition adheres to the spirit of responsible tourism by adopting its spirits. We believe in doing our business in socially, environmentally and culturally responsible manner. Some of the ways through which we embrace responsible tourism are as follows.

1. We place porter welfare as our top priority and almost all of our porters are from the communities where we operate.
2. We comply with the International Porter Protection Guidelines (IPPG).
3. We are a member of Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP), a non-profit working for the ecological and cultural prosperity of Nepal.
4. We inform our guest about social and cultural awareness in our trip dossiers and the tour leaders explain them in detail.
5. We encourage our guests to buy local products.
6. We do everything we can to ensure that we do not hamper the environmental and cultural ecology.
7. We actively partake in relief activities during any natural disaster and help with all we can. For example, after the recent flood in eastern Nepal, we took the initiative and collected warm clothes, household belongings and tents for the victims.
