As scheduled, one of the representatives from Nepal Vision will be waiting for you at the Tribhuvan International Airport to help you with the further transfer to the hotel. After taking some refreshments in the hotel, we will meet again. We will take a short visit to one of the typical Nepalese restaurants where we will go for a welcome dinner followed by a short briefing about the expedition. Overnight stay at the hotel.

We will start the second day of the trip with a warm breakfast at the hotel. We will then head towards the major sights in the Kathmandu Valley. Kathmandu Valley has much to offer from the beauty of traditional houses and the blend of culture with nature. We will tour the UNESCO World Heritage Sites to experience the culture, tradition, and lifestyle of the people in the city. Our staff will be helping you with the preparation for your adventurous and memorable Mt. Ama Dablam Expedition with a beautiful tour of the city.

We will take a very early morning mountain flight to Lukla which will have you on the edge of your seats with excitement. As you head to Lukla in the surreal 40-minute flight, you will be able to see the gorgeous mountains peeking at you from the north with their glowing snow caps. After landing in Lukla, we will take some rest and head towards the beautiful settlement at Phakding. The trekking trails have a lot to offer from the beauty of nature expressed in the forms of waterfalls, suspension bridges, rivers, and lush forests. We will be walking through these beautiful trails for around 4-5 hours, to reach Phakding. The settlement provides you with a friendly environment, proper accommodations, and good food facilities. Overnight at Phakding.

Following our itinerary, we will head towards Namche Bazaar. It is one of the most popular stops for trekkers in the Everest Region. Namche is known for its cultural diversity and the unique marketplace which is often crowded by the Sherpa vendors. From Phakding, we will be trekking for about 6-7 hours taking uphill and downhill trails through different terrains. We will be walking in the Sagarmatha National Park which is a restricted area and asks to follow some rules. You will also cross the longest suspension bridge where you can see the prayer flags leading you to the beautiful settlement at Namche Bazaar.

We will take the fifth day of the trek at Namche Bazaar as an acclimatization day. We will need acclimatization with the increasing altitude as it is important for you to let your bodies get adjusted, adapt to the changing high altitudes, and prevent altitude sickness. You can also choose to explore the Namche region, a beautiful settlement with a famous marketplace. You can take the day as a great opportunity to learn about the culture and history. If you want, you can also take a short hike up to Syangboche viewpoint to get an amazing view which will take about an hour or two. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

After taking a day for acclimatization and exploration at Namche Bazaar, we will continue the expedition. We will walk through the rising trail of Khyangjuma heading towards the Tengboche settlement. The Tengboche monastery gets close as we move forward. The Tengboche monastery is popular among travelers for its religious aspect as well as for being the viewpoint of the Tengboche region. We will then take a short descent passing through the Tengboche monastery that will lead us to the destination for the day. We will reach Deboche where we will also spend the night at a lodge there.

We will head towards Pheriche walking for a few hours. Pheriche is a small village that offers great views of the mountains in the region. The trails from Deboche to Pheriche will lead you to the small village through the rhododendron and birch forests which will decline slowly as you reach Pheriche. We will be passing through the trails with great views of the peaks like Everest, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse. We will then lead to crossing the Imja River which will eventually take us to the Dingboche settlement. We will take a short walk from Dingboche which will further lead us to the beautiful settlement of Pheriche. Overnight at Pheriche.

As we go to higher altitudes, there will be higher chances of altitude sickness, so, we will take another day as a rest day. You will be completely free to explore the surroundings.  You can also take a short hike to nearby hills. Places like Nagakarsang Hill and Dingboche Viewpoint offer an amazing enjoy the beautiful view of the magnificent mountains looking down on you. We spend the night in Pheriche.

We will move further towards the Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,800m). The base camp is the gateway for the further summit to the Ama Dablam peak. The trekking trails from Pheriche to Ama Dablam Base Camp will take us towards a gradual uphill with beautiful views of the mountains very close to you. The Ama Dablam base camp will be our home for the day. We need to go for an early sleep as we will be starting the climbing process the next day.

We will start the summit on the tenth day of the trek. As per our itinerary, we will be spending about 13 days on the summit of the peak. The climb is a technical climb that might be more challenging than others if the needed precautions and preparations are not applied. Also, reaching an altitude of 6,812m is a long journey that requires proper acclimatization to safely summit the peak.  We will acclimatize every time we reach a high camp. We will make our climb to Camp I following the standard guidelines and trails. After the climb, we will take an acclimatization day. The ascent will be technically challenging, so we must take some help from professional guides. We will move towards Camp II after taking acclimatization for a day. You can easily pass Camp II and Camp III as these are easily less technical than other camps. Finally, we will submit the glorious peak of Ama Dablam. After exploring the peak for a few hours, we will head back to the camp below. We will head back to the base camp on the 22nd day of the trek after the slow and steady guidance and preparation. We will be spending the night in tented camps throughout the journey.

After we complete our main goal to summit, Ama Dablam, one of the highest peaks of Nepal, we will make our way back. We will head towards Tengboche from the base camp.  The trails for the day will be quite easy and interesting as you will walk downhill from the base camp. We will head to town retracing the steps into the settlement of Pheriche. We will walk for 4 to 5 hours, slowly moving downhill, crossing the beautiful valley of Deboche. We will reach Tengbochge for the overnight stay in one of the Lodge.

We will head downhill toward Namche Bazaar, the infamous marketplace in the Everest Region. We will head back to Namche Bazaar to make more memories filled with the laughter and joy of traveling. We will eventually reach Namche Bazaar after walking for about 5-6 hours on the ragged roads. We will spend the night at a lodge in Namche.

It will be one of the longest treks in the journey. We will head straight towards Lukla from Namche. The walk will take us through various beautiful settlements on the way till we reach Lukla. We will reach Lukla after a long walk of 9-10 km passing through many waterfalls, suspension bridges, and the Bhote Koshi river. Finally, after crossing the Bhote Koshi River for three times, we will reach Lukla.

We take a heavy breakfast early in the morning which will be the last meal in the Khumbu region for the trek. Soon after breakfast, we will go for the scenic flight back to Kathmandu. You will have an amazing flight enjoying the picturesque views of the multiple mountains. We will land in the capital city, Kathmandu after 40 minutes where you’ll have plenty of time to rejuvenate yourself.

This day will be officially the last day of our Ama Dablam Expedition. We will be ending the last day of the trip with a leisurely day enjoying the tour around the city. You can enjoy your day on your own doing the things you love. You can also go for a food hunt or a sightseeing tour around the valley. You’ll have plenty of things to see around the valley. In the evening, we will meet again for a farewell dinner in one of the restaurants in the city. We will commemorate our beautiful journey together.
