The Everest Base Camp trek via Jiri is one of the most popular treks to reach the base camp of Mt. Everest (8848m). The trek takes you through a very different trail than the classic one. The trek via Jiri can be an adventurous journey in the Himalayan scenery which takes you through the alpine forests, ice-cold rivers, astonishing rhododendron, pine forests, magnificent mountains, high passes, mountain villages, and attractive monasteries.
The trek via Jiri passes through many exciting and amusing villages that are now visited by thousands of trekkers each year. The trail of the trek will pass through alpine jungles and glacial streams while enjoying the warm hospitality of ethnic people. You can also explore the culture and lifestyle of multiple ethnic groups like Tamang, Jerel, Rai, Brahmin, Chhetri, and mostly the Sherpas throughout the trek.
The trek gives you a great opportunity to explore beautiful Buddhist monasteries and nunneries. You will also visit the most sacred monastery in the region, Tengboche Monastery. The trail will also lead us to the adventurous high passes in the region, namely, Deurali Pass (2,705m), Lamjura-La Pass (3,530m), and Thaksindo-La Pass (3,071m).
The trek offers a beautiful mesmerizing view of the mountains like Everest (8,848m), Cho Oyo (8,201m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,481m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), Thamserku (6,623m) and many other surrounding peaks. The Everest Base Camp trek via Jiri is a great exploration and audacious trek for physically fit people.
