The 11-day Everest base camp short trek is a wonderful journey to the heart of the Himalayan wander. The adventure begins in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, where you will immerse yourself in cultural and natural heritage. Additionally, the trek begins with a scenic flight to Lukla that takes you through dramatic landscapes, charming villages, and terraced farms. 

The Everest Base Camp short trek is an amazing opportunity for a high-altitude adventure within a short period of time. It leads you to Phakding and takes you forward to Namche Bazar. Namche Bazar is a town located in the Himalayas which is also a hub for the trekkers on their way to Everest base camp.

Everest base camp short trek starts with a 40-minute scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla with a picturesque view of the valley. After landing, you will reach Namche Bazar and explore the town for a while. Later, you will leave Namche Bazar behind, which leads to Tengbcohe, a village showcasing ancient Buddhist heritage. 

The place has a revered Buddhist temple, Dawa Choling Gompa, that resonates with captivating prayer chants. At the same time, it also serves as a place where visitors can feel the peace and offer their own supplications for an amazing journey to the Everest region. 

You continue your expedition to Dingboche before ascending to higher altitudes that put your physical stamina to the test. Now, in Dingboche, you take a break and acclimatize, adhering to medical guidance. From Dingboche, you proceed to Lobuche (4940m) gives an incomprehensible panorama of the majestic Himalayas. 

The day also stands out as a highlight as you reach Everest base camp (5364m). It's the same spot where Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay stood nearly seven decades ago, polishing the dream of conquering the world's tallest peak. Moreover, our surroundings also encompass vistas of the Khumbu Glacier stretches from 4900m to its origin at 7600m.

Today, you march towards the Gorakshep, where you will stay for a night. The following day, you will march to Kala Pathhar (5555m) where you will see the sunrise whose golden rays glow upon Everest and the Khumbu Glacier. The initial days leave you captivated with shifting shades and reflection on Everest's awe-inspiring scenes.

Trekking in the Himalayas means uphill and downhill walking in the remote part. So your health and physical fitness play a vital role in completing this trek. If your level of fitness is good and your health is excellent, you can join this trek even if you have never done trekking in the high Himalayan region.

The teahouse accepts Nepalese currency so you must have enough Nepalese currency with you.

In Tea House Trek you will serve a variety of local foods including such items as Tibetan fried bread, soups, momo’s (steamed dumplings), daal- Bhat (lentils and rice), tarkari (steamed, fried, or curried vegetables), potatoes (prepared in dozens of ways), pasta and even a version of pizza. Meats are rarely eaten although you may have canned tuna or sardines and the occasional yak stew. Breakfasts typically consist of eggs (prepared in many ways), hot porridge, muesli, toast, peanut butter, and honey.

The difficulty level of the Everest Base Camp is moderate also the trekking time is often two weeks. 

Mount Everest can be seen from Kathmandu. The Chandragiri hills located in Kathmandu offer you a panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges and Mount Everest on a clear day.

The Everest Base Camp trek depends on the individual. On average, the trek takes around 15 days of which 12 days are for climbing and 4 days for getting down the trail.

Yes, it's obvious, you can trek to Mount Everest without a guide.  You don't need a guide for better weather and an easy trail but you may need a guide to take a safe land when the conditions worsen.
