Deatil Itinerary for Langtang - Helambu Explorer Trek - 16 Nights/ 17 Days Trip

Day 01:
Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Welcome to Himalayan country of Nepal. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan intl. airport our representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, evening you'll meet and transfer for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant in the heart of Kathmandu and briefing about your trip and overnight at Hotel.
Day 02:
Kathmandu valley sightseeing & trek preparation (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Today, morning we will ready after your breakfast to head on for our guided day trip to world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley and visit the highlights of Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. We take you to visit the pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Pashupatinath, one of the most important shrine of Shiva temples on the subcontinent which is place of thousand of devotees, Saddhus (holy men/Baba), and can be seen the cremating body most of the times in the holy riverbank of Bagmati. Hundreds of monkeys are giggling with you and take a time to exploring surrounding area and visit Bouddhanath stupa an another pilgrimage centre which is most popular and important place for Buddhist. You can explore with rounding prayer wheel and flattering colorful flag with melodious chanting noise. After your lunch at Bouddha visit Swoyambhunath stupa also known as monkey temple covering wide range of area with highest point of Kathmandu valley and enjoy the 360 degrees of valley view. After exploring the surrounding areas visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square which is old royal palace of Kathmandu and can be seen lot of temple, architectures and Kumari (living goddess) and walk in a freak street and late afternoon back to hotel and evening briefing about your trip, what is your responsibility, what to do and doesn't in the trek? Introduce with our fellow trekking staff and chances to ask remaining question and remaining time explore the surrounding areas or simply relax at the hotel.
Day 03:
Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,420m/4,658ft), 8-9 hrs drive
This morning we'll drive on a northern highway that twists and climbs over mountain ridges to the Trishuil valley for lunch and on to Syabru village for the overnight. The journey will take 8-9 hours through picturesque landscapes, mountain scenery and local villages. From Syabru we'll have magnificent views of Mt. Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Mt Kerung of Tibet. We'll relax tonight at a local teahouse.
Day 04:
Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2340m/7,675ft), 5-6 hrs walk
After breakfast we start to walk own our pace and the trail ascends for around two hours through the forest followed by a climb of about an hour to reach Bamboo village (1,850m/6,068ft) where we'll stop for lunch. This forested path with well stabilized trails and following the up stream and can be seen birds life around the bushes. Bee hives hanging on a cliff are another attraction for the visitors. From here we'll again steeply climb through the bamboo forest to reach the Lama Hotel where we'll rest and overnight at a local teahouse.
Day 05:
Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3,480m/11,415ft), 5-6 hrs walks
Today we'll have a pleasant walk and follow the trail through rhododendron and pine forest for around three hours to reach Ghora Tabela where we'll stop for lunch. This surrounding area dense wild habitat area and many small babblers with lot of herbal can be found here. After lunch we'll walk another three hours on the scenic trail takes us to Langtang village where we'll relax for the evening.
Day 06:
Langtang village to Kyanjing Gompa (2,920m/9,578ft), 3-4 hrs walk
After breakfast this morning we'll leave the village and start our trek leisurely for around three to four hours to visit Kyanjing Gompa. From here we'll also have beautiful views of Mt Ganchempo and Langtang Lirung. We'll visit surrounding area like Yak cheese Factory, Monastery and local houses as we relax for the evening at teahouse.
Day 07:
Rest dat at Kyanjin Gompa
Today you may have full day of rest and relaxation at the surrounding area. We'll be able to simply relax and enjoy the views or to explore the local area or visit some highlights of Cherku-ri (5,150 meters), glacier walk or Langshisha kharka depends on your fitness and interest. We'll back to hotel for overnight stop.
Day 08:
Kyanjin Gumpa to Lama Hotel (2340m/7,675ft), 6-7 hrs walk
This morning we'll retrace our steps somewhat as we head back from the Gompa. We have a easy down hill and pleasant walk through the rhododendron forest to Lama Hotel where we'll rest for the night before continuing our journey tomorrow for the Thulo Syabru village.
Day 09:
Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru Village (1,900m/6,232ft), 5-6 hrs walk
Today our trail leads again through bamboo & rhododendron forest where we may see the local wild boar as well as other animal and birdlife on the route to Thulo Syabru. En route we'll have marvelous views of Mt Ganesh Himal, so close it seems like it's beside us. Firstly easy down hill follows the river bank but last part steeply up hill for couple of hours to get to the village. We'll rest overnight at Thulo Syabru.
Day 10:
Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (3330m/10,922ft), 4-5 hrs walk
We'll walk for around 4-5 hours today through dense forest of pine and rhododendron to reach Sing Gompa (Chandan Bari) where we'll stay overnight. The trail from here is mostly uphill with typically Himalayan terrain and last few hours remaining forested with open areas giving excellent views when looking back the way we have come. After arrival in hotel refreshed and enjoy visiting cheese factory as well as terrain forested landscape.
Day 11:
Sing Gumpa to Gosainkunda Lake (4380m/14,366ft), 4-5 hrs walk
Today we'll follow a wonderfully quiet and less trekked trail to reach at holy Gosainkunda Lake passing through Cholagpati and Lauribinayak. From Cholagpati it's a steep climb today but with spectacular views and landscape. The area around here is the homeland of the Tamangs and Bhotias and even a short time spent here provides an insight into their rural mountain lifestyles and the cultural contrasts between Hindu and Buddhist villages. We'll be able to simply relax or take a stroll around the lake and surrounding area.
Day 12:
Gosainkunda to Tharepati (3600m/11,808ft), 7-8 hrs walk
From the lake area we start with a short climb to the Lauribina La pass (4610m) above the lake where we passes few lake besides Gosainkund and from the top followed by a steep downhill section on an elevated trail. After climbing over a ridge of the mountain we finally reach Tharepati on this long day but spectacular. We'll rest overnight at Tharepati.

Day 13:
Tharepati to Tarkeghyang (2,600m/8,528ft), 5-6hrs walk
This morning we begin our trek with a steep descent down a ravine where the vegetation changes first to large firs then to oak and rhododendron forest. Crossing over a stream via a suspension bridge, we follow the trail as it makes a short final climb to reach the prosperous Sherpa village of Melamchi gaun. The trail continues its descent to the Melamchi Khola (river). After crossing the bridge the trail begins to climb up the other side of the valley towards Tarkeghyang. It's a long climb to this picturesque village, situated on a shelf high above the river. It's the largest village in Helambu and the main destination for trekkers traveling in this region as well as a good place to take a rest and enjoy the views and overnight stop.
Day 14:
Tarkeghyang to Sermanthang (2,690m/8,823ft), 4-5 hrs walk
We left the big village of Tarkeghyang the trail makes a sweep around the head of the wide valley between Parachin and the pretty village of Gangjwal at around 2500m. The trail then drops down from the edge of the ridge and continues at around the same altitude along the side of the ridge crossing over a number of streams and waterfalls. Finally we pass a Gompa before reaching the large village of Sermathang for our overnight stop.
Day 15:
Sermanthang to Melamchi Pul bazzar (900m/2952ft) to Kathmandu, 5-6 hrs walk
After breakfast we'll follow the trail along the ridge all the way down to Melamchi, a drop of around 1790m. After passing a large Gompa at the southern end of the village the trail undulates along the west side of the ridge, passing numerous chortens before dropping down to Kakani. From here the trail descends again to the small village of Dubochaur and continues to descend even more steeply across the ridge to the junction of the Indrawati and Melamchi rivers. We'll cross the suspension bridge over the Melamchi River to reach at Melamchi Bazaar for our lunch.

From here, we take a bus, along the Helambu highway which is not well settled and back to Kathmandu where we'll return to this evening. Arriving in Kathmandu we'll check in to our hotel with the remainder of the evening and night at leisure.

Day 16:
Leisure at Kathmandu
This pleasant day you may have full day at leisure and either relax at hotel or explore the Thamel and overnight at hotel.
Day 17:

Departure from Kathmandu
Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until your departure flight/drive or to commence any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you'll be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
