Nepal is a safe travel destination

The recent series of Earthquake in Nepal has caused considerable damages in some regions of Nepal. The images from Nepal that did rounds in world media as well as internet were horrific. Travelers around the world asked a common question: Is Nepal now safe to travel?

Most of the popular trekking regions of Nepal are not affected by the earthquake. The infrastructures of the areas that are partially affected are already under reconstruction. Even after the recent earthquakes, Nepal has infrastructures and human resources capable to the address needs of travelers. Most of the tea houses, hotels and lodges in the mountains are open.

The two regions that are highly affected by the earthquakes in Nepal are Langtang and Manaslu. The Government of Nepal has stopped issuing trekking permits in those two regions until further notice. The tourism sector of Nepal is committed to reconstructing the infrastructures in those regions and welcome tourists as soon as it gets.

The government is working really hard to clear the debris from the heritage sites of Kathmandu and make those tourist attractions risk free. The world heritage sites in Kathmandu will be open to visitors from 15 June 2015.

Though Nepal remains a safe destination even after the recent earthquakes, Nepal Vision Treks and Expedition is now taking extra safety measures in every trek we conduct. For the time being, we are also taking tents with us for extra cover. We will update our sites and blogs with regular updates from the mountains. Please stay tuned and write us in case you have any queries.

Annapurna Region

The Annapurna Region is not affected by the recent earthquake in Nepal. The tourism related infrastructures as well as the local villages are intact. Hotels, teahouses and lodges are open for business. You can trek in Annapurna region without hesitation. We are always committed towards conducting safe trek. Recent earthquakes have increased our emphasis on the safety measures.

Everest Region

The Everest region is partially affected by the recent earthquakes in Nepal. Some houses and teahouses in Phakding, Khumjung and Pangboche have been destroyed. EBC trek trail, along with the trek trail from Gokyo to Chola Pass remain unaffected. Other high passes are unaffected too. The footage of avalanche in EBC has spread fear. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has already inspected the region and declared it safe for trekking. We will be taking tents with us in every trek we conduct.
