Mt. Everest Base Camp Expedition(TripID #NV-00120)

Everest Base Camp Trek

Trip Overview

Nepal is a magical kingdom where Buddhist beliefs anchor an ancient people. Nepalese history, culture and tradition are alive in the many villages along our trekking path. Ancient script states that Buddhist Lord Manjushree peered at a crystal clear lake in the middle of the Himalayas and drained it with a pass of his sword. This valley, now known as Kathmandu, will be our starting and ending point.

On our adventure expedition to Everest's Base Camp, you will follow much of the approach route that expeditions take. Visiting legendary temples, crossing high mountain passes and stopping to drink tea in hillside villages are just a few of the treasures that you will discover. Our goal is not to travel through this area, but to experience this unique land and people known as the "Sherpa".

Traveling in Nepal is a learning experience and one that can not be fully explained. The combination of sheer beauty and spiritual awareness with the poverty and crowded streets of Katmandu must be experienced. Travelers to Nepal should consider this before they go. Having once decided, our trek to Everest Base Camp is awesome!

Sample day on "Mt. Everest Base Camp Expedition"

All our treks are managed by a team of professionally trained Leader/guide responsible for all aspects of the running of the trek. Our special departure trek is well versed in the culture and natural history of the Himalayas. Your day start with a cup of hot tea served in your room. A member of the trekking staff followed by a bowl of hot washing water, after which you will be required to pack your luggage and the porters loaded whilst we are having breakfast. After breakfast we set off on the trail, enjoying the pleasant cool of the morning. Your day's trek involves navigating numerous picturesque forests, hills, mountains and the local villages for the next three hours. Around mid-day we usually stop for a pleasant spot along the way for lunch. Your midday lunch break usually lasts around an hour and is a time to relax, pop the boots off and air those feet! Plenty of time is allowed for photograph in the route. After lunch you'll walk another three hours or so, before you stop for the night. You have enough time to change, freshen up, before exploring an area.

Each evening is spent as per your interest for reading or chatting with the fellow trekkers and crew members or a pack of cards is an advantage; the crew love teaching various Nepali card games and learning new Western games. Our porters and Sherpa's also like to have singing and dancing competitions in which they love you to join in! Finally, it's off to bed for a well deserved night's rest before you start it all again.

Below the 3000 meters during the October to March needed medium weight clothing with light hiking boots and above 3000 meters needed highly wrapped equipment prefer down cloths with comfortable good trek boot. During the period of April to September below 3000 meters needed light weight clothing as T-shirt, rainproof trouser, fleece jacket, rain poncho and waterproof light boot and above the 3000 meters to be needed down, medium fabrics and good trek boot. Generally find the equipment list below for your personal use during your travel with us,

Also most of the equipments can buy or hire in Kathmandu.

Acclimatization
Our itinerary specially tailored considering with a high degree of minimization of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Normally, altitude sickness stars from 3,600 meters/11808 feet and there is no problem below this standard. During your trip this is a best solution go slowly with body acclimatization. Consider in the higher altitude there is less oxygen in the air. Suppose, crossing high passes more than 5,000 meters/ 16,400 feet, there is 50% less oxygen than at sea level. Your body needs many days to acclimatization during the travel in high Himalaya.

During the autumn the vegetation is lush after the rains of the monsoon and the air is clean and fresh and spring can be a little dusty but with pleasant & warm weather. December to February is good for visibility but cold in high altitude as well as Kathmandu too. Starting the rain from June and till the mid of the September and cloudy weather badly for visibility.
