15 Days Trip
Day 01:
Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Welcome to Himalayan country of Nepal. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan intl.
airport our representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel
in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, evening you'll meet and transfer for
welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant in the heart of Kathmandu
and briefing about your trip and overnight at Hotel.
Day 02:
Kathmandu valley sight seeing and trip preparation
Today, morning after breakfast at the hotel we will ready after your breakfast
to head on for our guided day trip to world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley
and visit the highlights of Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. We take you to
visit the pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Pashupatinath, one of the most important
shrine of Shiva temples on the subcontinent which is place of thousand of devotees,
Saddhus (holy men/Baba), and can be seen the cremating body most of the times
in the holy riverbank of Bagmati. Hundreds of monkeys are giggling with you and
take a time to exploring surrounding area and visit Bouddhanath stupa an another
pilgrimage centre which is most popular and important place for Buddhist. You
can explore with rounding prayer wheel and flattering colorful flag with melodious
chanting noise.
After visiting Bouddhanath stupa we'll drive to the City of Devotees (Bhaktapur).
This traditional and traffic free town is the third biggest town in the Valley.
We'll explore the medieval like squares, courtyards and temples of this vibrant
town. After a stop for lunch at a restaurant in Bhaktapur it's time to drive
back to Kathmandu and meet up with travel manager for your Bhutan tour briefing
and overnight at the hotel.
Day 03:
Fly from Kathmandu to Paro (2,135m/7,000 ft)
This morning you'll be transferred to intl. airport for your flight to Paro with
dramatic Himalayan scenery flight and arrive at Paro Bhutanese representative
will pick up you and transfer to the hotel. After refreshed briefing and start
our trip by today. Paro is a small town situated in a beautiful and peaceful valley.
We'll visit the ruined fortress of Drugyel Dzong in its strategic position where
it once defended the Paro valley from Tibetan invasion from the north in the early
17th century. On a clear day Mount Chomolhari (7320m) can be seen towering over
the dzong. From here we'll continue on and take a short hike (2-3 hours) uphill
through traditional villages and pine forest to reach the viewpoint at Taktsang
Monastery. Horses can also be arranged for the journey uphill in extra payment.
The monastery clings to a huge granite cliff 800m above the Paro valley. We'll
continue on through the beautiful valley to visit the watch tower, known locally
as Ta-Dzong. The tower was housed into the National Museum in the 1960s by the
third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. After visit around explore the local market
as well and back to hotel for overnight.
Day 04:
Explore Paro yourself
Today, you have full day at leisure in the Paro valley to explore the most beautiful
part of the town or to acclimatize yourself a hike to Taktsang monastery meaning
a tiger's den lies at an altitude of 3000m which takes about 2/3 hours. The monastery
was gutted by fire in 1998 but the remains of the structure still attract visitors.
The Royal Government has taken immediate steps to restore and re-construct the
old structure. Tea and snacks will be served at the cafeteria where you can gaze
at this beautiful monument built during the 17th century. After exploring the
area stroll back to hotel for overnight, remaining time visit local market and
surrounding areas.
Day 05:
Paro to Chonana (3100m/10,168ft), 4-5 hrs walking
Today, after the breakfast we'll take a drive to the trekking starting point
and start our walk with gradual uphill through the farm houses and can be seen
good view of the landscapes. On arrival at Chonana we'll stop for the overnight
at camp.
Day 06:
Chonana to Jebkarpo (3650m/11,972ft), 5-6 hrs walking
We continue our trek with almost uphill today. So, you can walk on your pace
and frequently stopping will help to go further. Today all the trails goes through
the forest filled with many species of Primula and Rhododendrons. After arrive
at the top can be visible of magnificent scenic Himalayan range along Chele La
and walk through the ridge and overnight at camp at Jebkarpo.
Day 07:
Jebkarpo to Lower Mingula (3750m/12,300ft), 4-5 hrs walking
This morning we wake to see lovely scenic views of Mt. Chomolharo, Jichu Drake
and Tshrim Gang with a sunrise and after breakfast trek onwards along the ridge
with scenic picturesque view and also offer the bird's eye view of Paro and Haa
valley and on arrival at Mingula we'll stop at the camp.
Day 08:
Lower Mingula to Thong (3650m/11,972ft), 5-6 hrs walking
Today we'll start our journey continuing and offer excellent views of the mountains
and valleys with passing some across yak herders' camp. We can visit one of the
camps and enjoy their companion. As tradition you will be offered butter tea or
chang (local wine) and enjoys with locals and overnight at camp.
Day 09:
Thong to Drugyel Dzong (2400m/7872ft), 3-4 hrs walking
This morning we have easy walking with descending trails and all the way through
pine and rhododendron forest and will arrive near the ruined fortress which, once
defended the valley from Tibetan Invasion during the 17th Century and take a drive
back to Paro.
Day 10:
Drive to Thimpu, 2 hours
Today, we drive to Capital city of Bhutan and this will be a pleasant one mainly
due to the well maintained road through out Bhutan and upon arrival at the Thimpu
and check into the Hotel Druk or River view or similar. You'll have time to rest
and refreshed and afternoon we take you to visit the Memorial chorten built in
the memory of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, 15 century Changangkha monastery,
Motithang mini zoo to see the rare "Takin" national animal of Bhutan
and drive further down with good view of the Thimphu valley and one more visit
the new Drupthob nunnery and stroll back to hotel or rest of the time explore
the local market and overnight at hotel.
Day 11:
Thimpu to Wangduephodrang
We take to visit more surrounding areas after your breakfast as Painting school,
National library, Royal goldsmith workshop and Handicraft centers and afternoon
we drive around 3 hours to Wangduephodrang crossing through the Dochula pass 3100
meters. On fine weather you will see the eastern Himalayan ranges including the
highest mountain in Bhutan Mt. Gangar Punsum 7520 meters. The drive from the pass
is all the way downhill dropping to the lower and warmer valleys of lobesa. Visit
the Wangduephodrang Dzong from outside and the market area and overnight at Wangdi
Kichu Resort or similar.
Day 12:
Wangduephodrang to Paro
This morning we drive 45 minutes to Punakha and visit the Punakha Dzong which
served as an old capital of Bhutan. This remarkable fortress is built between
two rivers and has survived many glacial floods and fire. Every year during the
month of February a procession known as the Punakha Serda takes place to commemorate
the victory over the Tibetans and after exploring here we drive to Thimphu and
further to Paro village for overnight at Kichu resort similar.
Day 13:
Paro to Kathmandu
This morning we'll transfer to the airport at Paro to catch our short but very
scenic flight over the Himalayan range to reach Kathmandu, Nepal with great views
of Mt Everest, Kanchenjunga, Chomolhari, Tsrim Gang and Jichu Drake can be seen
returning to the Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu we''ll pick up transfer to
the hotel. Remaining time rest and relax at the hotel or explore the Thamel area.
Day 14:
Half day Kathmandu valley sight seeing
After your breakfast at hotel we'll be ready for 3 hrs Kathmandu valley sight
seeing as visit Swoyambhunath stupa also known as monkey temple covering wide
range of area with highest point of Kathmandu valley and enjoy the 360 degrees
of valley view. After exploring the surrounding areas visit to Kathmandu Durbar
Square which is old royal palace of Kathmandu and can be seen lot of temple, architectures
and Kumari (living goddess) and walk in a freak street and afternoon back to hotel
for the lunch and remaining time last minutes shopping or simply relax at the
hotel.
Day 15:
Departure from Kathmandu
Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family,
friends or relatives for you until your departure flight/drive or to commence
any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you'll
be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your
onwards destination.
